Been looking for a way to get my HTPC setup have access to my media HD's, which are in my tower at the moment.

I know a NAS is possible, but it's a tad on the expensive side. I looked at the Belkin USB network HUB, but it seems a tad slow and streaming videos from that to the HTPC might result in laggy videos.

    What options do I have?

I want to be able to connect it to my home network, and only to that. My PC and HTPC, as well as my netbooks should be able to access the HD's when connected to home network.

If you want lag-less streaming video, you're going to have to go with a first-rate setup, and that is going to cost more than the bare minimum needed just to get the hdd's accessible across the network.

    Mmmmmmm thought so.

After doing more research, though I was hesistant, I think I may set up a small unRAID Server by buying an old mITX or mATX system.
