I don't know if this really fits here, but this is a great website for getting help, so I will give it a try.

I need to access my Universitys network to turn in some of my homework. To do this, there is a folder on the network. If I am on a computer in the lab, I just go to my network places and its there. If I am in my dorm room, I was told that I have to use the name of the folder then .cs.uwyo.edu after. That doesn't work either though. I tried using the University VPN client as well, because normally I connect through my router on my wireless network, so I can't see other people on the University Network. That doesn't connect. If this makes sense and someone understands what I want to do and knows how to do it, let me know. Thanks.

I checked the firewall, it didn't help. I might look into the IT department, but most of the people don't know what they are talking about...makes getting help difficult.

You know... it shouldn't be that difficult. At our university, we just do \\servername\username to map our network drive or \\servername\dropbox\classname\section to map a class's dropbox. Though, the cisco vpn client they've been providing sucks using off campus, as it's slow as hell, and sometimes won't allow us to map drives.
But not sure why you'd really need to use vpn on campus though... unless for extra protection.

I am just curious is that will allow me to access the network folders through the router since I can't otherwise. I still haven't figiured it out yet, hopefully I will have more time soon. Any other ideas?
