I just received a pair of Netgear XAV5001 Powerline AV 500 adapters to replace my Netgear HDX101 Powerline HD adapters.

A quick iperf tcp run yields 78.5Mbps for the XAV5001 versus 36.0Mbps on the HDX101. I'm happy with that.

The XAV5001 is a bit smaller by length and width, but about the same depth. I attached some pics.

The XAVB5001 is the kit that has two adapters, I had to buy two XAV5001 units separately because the kits were out of stock everywhere. The price was exactly the same for two units as for the kit.
