It appears netgear has changed its forum software over. It is horrid to say the least, no structure what so ever for its devices. Everything is jumbled together so if you are looking for something you had best be specific or you are dead.
Where I was having reservations recommending the R8000 now I can never recommend to anyone any Netgear product as customer online support is dodgy at best.

I recently updated my R7000 firmware to the newest Official Netgear release but for the first time I had to go back to the previous release due to some 5ghz disconnecting and greatly fluctuating link speeds.
I've owned,3700v2,3800,4500,R6300 and now R7000 and never had to go back to previous firmware. -

EDIT:
I just did a clean Windows 8.1 installation so I'll test 1.0.4.30 again.
I switched from AT&T uVerse 18Mbps MAX to Time Warner 100Mbps so I'm just getting the feel of their modem and the R7000 connected to it.Last edited: Jul 22, 2015alexhawker likes this.
