I may be in the market for a new router and this one seems to keep popping up, just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with it yet.

    I also have a question
    1. Will I still be able to just use my built in wifi chip or do I know have to buy one of those Wireless N USB adapters? Currently I connect to G just not sure if anything else is necessary so that I get the N connection.

Good router and should work but why do you need a new router if you don't mind me asking?

All new N routers are backwards compatible with G so your laptop will continue to work just fine.

My current router is a few years old now and I need something with much better range and options.

Quite frankly there's no point in buying this router. Old WNDR3700 has more powerful CPU and is faster overall, it's also cheaper and has comparable radio (although no 450mbps capability).

Linksys E4200 is very similar to Nergear WNDR4000- same CPU, same capabilities (2.4GHz radio @3000mbps while 5GHz radio @450mbps)- the difference is that Linksys has far better wireless range on 2.4GHz radio.

If you're after 450mbps and 2.4GHz range Linksys E4200 is the best, if you don't need 450mbps nor exceptional wireless range- Netgear WNDR3700 is very good.
WNDR4000 is in between them- price tag from Linksys with performance lower than WNDR3700's.

Well, when I meant E4200 is faster I didn't mean that much faster ;)
