I have another Netgear router, but perhaps the control panels are somewhat similar. I went to the advanced settings tab > advanced setup > wireless settings in sidebar. It was listed as Transmit Power Control.

The only transmit power option I know of is for the notebook's wireless card in the adaptor Advanced Settings and I think the default is "Highest".

I had a WNDR3700v2 that gave me excellent service.

I don't remember seeing any transmit power option in the Netgear Genie and I don't see one in my current Genie/firmware for my Netgear R6300.

There is such option to make it above 24(default is 24 iirc) if you use openwrt and then ssh in, but no real world difference. If you have US version, stick with stock as it have better performance.

It looks like 1.1.00.18 is foe Germany only, it 1.1.00.15 for the UK, I tried to upgrade but i get in "undefined" popup when i click the upload button, the file i am using is "DGND3700v2h1_V1.1.00.15_1.00.15.img"

This is a combo device with an ADSL modem so I would be rather cautious about flashing different firmwares. In Germany most lines are ISDN lines as opposed to POTS lines in the UK so in case of the former you are looking at Annex B and in case of latter at Annex A.

Long story short- in most cases you would be looking different hardware versions of the same device. You could have bricked if it actually accepted the firmware in question.

I actually wanted to turn the transmit power down, as my router is only 5 feet away from my desk, i already have my notebook wifi set at 25% transmit power and it works fine.
