I have a D-Link Dir655 router, my desktop is wired to it and I have a Lenovo laptop that I connect via wireless. I AM NOT network or wireless savvy. It took me hours to get my laptop connected and I'm not sure even how I did it. The manual is pretty much over my head.
My problem: how do I let other laptop connect wirelessly? When outside visitors come and want to connect to my network I give them the preshared key and nothing happens (I have it set to WPA-personal). I now have a club computer that I'm trying to connect and can't. It detects my network but can't connect. I tried unsecuring the system by going to setup/wireless connection/manual configuration. I set the Security mode to 'none'. It shows up as an unsecured network when other laptops detect it but can't connect. What am I missing in the configuration of the network/wireless settings? I tried calling my service provider and they walked me through changing the PSK password, etc and it didn't work. I asked if I unsecure it would it work? and they said yes. I tried it and nothing happens (and yes, I clicked on 'save settings'). Can anyone help but please in simple terms. Step by step would be great

It's possible you messed something up in the configuration somewhere. At this point it might be best to do a hard reset on the router and get it back to factory original specs, and then start all over again from there. Check in the manual to see exactly what to do to do a hard reset.
