    Dear Friends! I need advice.

I have lenovo Y50-70, win 8.1x64, with onboard REALTEK RTL8723BE wireless card in .
In device manager i clearly see that it is wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC card, but hell i dont see any options to turn on that "n" on.

I just have changed my internet provider, he suplied me with dual band AC wireless router. And with laptop i only see 1 band 2hz, but on my smartphone i can use second 5 hz band easyly.

Question, how i can enable stupid "n" mode on my wifi card, to be able to pass 100 Mbps or i just need to buy other card ?

Your WiFi card supports wireless-n but only on the 2.4 GHz band. In order to access the 5 GHz one on your router, you would need to swap the card. Not sure how easy it would be on the Y50, both in terms of physically being able to change it out as well as whether or not Lenovo has a BIOS whitelist, which would severely limit your upgrade options.

First of all you need a Wi-Fi card that is meant for a Lenovo notebook, not just any WiFi card. Secondly the one you linked to is a poor choice. Intel 7265 would be better.

That Lenovo does have a whitelist. A modifed BIOS has to be flashed to use other cards but it has risks.

USB dual-band wifi dongles are fairly cheap these days - although whether this would get you more speed is debatable.

Your card already supports 150Mbps transmission at 2.4GHz. You haven't stated what kind of router you are using, but you won't necessarily get better speeds by moving to the 5GHz range. This depends on the router. Some dual band routers provide faster transmission at 5GHz over 2.4, but not all.

You may want to go into the advance settings for your wireless card and enable transmission on the 40MHz bandwidth. By default most cards just use the 20MHz range. The 40MHz range should increase your speed. This setting may need to be enabled on your router if it is not already.
