An Apple Airport Extreme would be a very pretty router - but I am also sure you will be paying a premium for the Apple brand. Look at the MacBook Air, its a functional laptop, but you are paying a huge premium for a machine which can be had for 3/4 of the price.

Sorry I've nothing against Apple, just that if you want a router, then Linksys or DLink are the best I've come across. No need to shell out extra cash just for a pretty looking Apple entry (unless that is imporatnt to you).

it's a great router, w/ the functional usb port for printers, hd's, etc and can use dual frequency's

if you don't mind paying for it, it's very nice.....

Linksys WRT350N. This is in my opinion the fastest N router. You could also take a look at the D-Link DIR-855.

If you have a dual band card, get a dual band router to go with it. This is only worth the extra expense when you have 11g users too.

The MacBook Air is a bad example. It's an ultra portable... you won't get many ultra portables with similar specs for that price.

With that said, If you are to consider an Apple router, go with the Time Capsule. Has N wireless, 3 Gigabit LAN ports, USB, and a built in drive, and it's not a bad price when you think about it.
