Alright so my mom got me a laptop for Christmas.
The whole reason she got me a laptop is so i can roam around the house and not sit in my room all day on the internet.
Well We have fast access dsl. You know where it connects into one giant modem thing and then from that one cable runs to the wall and the other into my cpu.

Well I have this Netopia Wireless Adapter , the USB model.
I'm not really sure what it is , what it does or if it will even work.

    Can someone help me please?

The Netopia flash drive looking thing sits on another stand that also plugs into a usb.

    So im really confused.

Are you supposed to plug the stand into the cpu and the flash drive thing into the laptop?

Your setup should be like this.
    Wall jack to DSL Modem
    Modem to Wireless Router
The wireless router should also have 3-4 wired LAN ports for PC's

Now what is the BIG thing you describe.
List the model no. of the hardware you have so we know what we have to work with.

Your Dell has wireless built in, so the usb wireless card is not needed. What brand and model of router do you have.
