I am running Windows 7 64-bit professional. Our internet providor in Iraq is useless and cant help with my questions. Our internet here is always connected and you have to login through a default weblink before you are able to access the internet. The same that most hotels use user id and password. I am connected using an ethernet cable and it works fine however when I add a router to this to connect it no longer wants to work and websites do not come up. There is no special settings that are needed to use our internet just a user id and password that is valid. The problem is I am trying to share my internet connection with my Playstation 3 and if I am unable to even use internet plugged in to the router then it with my computer the I wont be able to connect my PS3. Any useful ideas or suggestions are appreciated. My friend let me borrow his router until the one I ordered gets here. It is a Linksys WRT300N I belive. Thanks.

i am assuming the problem is that the router is blocking the login info. You probably need to do some port forwarding. Now if you just use a hub instead of a router you shouldn't have a problem. Hubs do not block or filter an data.

I have a hub but it doesn't work either. The login does capture your IP and you can't login to two different IP addresses at the same time.

well you can do this...a bit more tricky. You need to set up your regular computer as a bridge. You will need 2 Ethernet plugs in your computer and have your computer sign in the internet and than have the other two go to the hub and connect the hub to the second Ethernet port. This will allow your other computers to get internet through your main computer. you will need to google bridging computers together. i have never had to do it myself...almost had to once but i got another way for it to work in my random case. Good luck man. it''ll require a good bit of effort

side note you can also use an old computer as ur bridge...that was my plan along time ago. I acquired a bunch of lan cards so i turned an old p3 into a big hub ^^ I also had a plan to use netlimiter so the computer could be a way i could control the bandwidth of every computer lol

EDIT:If you dont have 2 Ethernet ports in one computer you can use your wireless card too. Connect to the internet with the Ethernet and than connect a wireless router to your computer through the wireless router....sorry this is all i can come up with.....going to be a total pain to set up...i do recommend using 2 Ethernet ports over using wireless.

EDIT:if you need anything pm me...too many tabs ^^

If you are on a base/outpost in theater and are working to bypass security controls imposed by the isp/contractor (which are probably part of their service contract) you will likely end up in hot water with the provider, your CO, and your friends.

I am fine. This is not military provided. This is a paid internet service provider and I have spoke to them about this. I have other friends here playing online. I am just trying to get connected online.
