Hey guys, I've given up on my old router, it needs updated anyways. I've been looking at some, and reading some reviews, just wanted to get another opinion before I went to go get one.

First, I have 3 laptops that will be connecting to this router. 1 normally is wired and is only wireless "b". The other 2 are wireless with b/g and a/b/g. Will I need a mixed mode setup even if the laptop with "b" is connected via ethernet cable?

My use for this router will be to hopefully game with 2 laptops at the same time. I don't expect killer ping, but I do want playable, uninterrupted gaming when I do play. My old router liked to drop me, even with new firmware, so this one needs to be reliable and have enough bandwidth to accomodate to gaming laptops simultaneously.

As far as routers go, what is a good choice right now? I'm looking to stay with "g" and don't want to venture into "n" yet, but definitely don't want to go back to "b" only.

These are a few I have been looking at.
    D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G 108Mbps 2.4GHz
    LINKSYS WRT54GL
    LINKSYS WRT54G
    LINKSYS WRT54GS

Are these any good? Anything better for my needs? Thanks for the help.

I would probably recommend the WRT54GL, as you can flash it with the dd-wrt firmware and make it a decent unit, so I've heard.

I have the WRT54G and it has worked flawlessly. Easy setup.

I do not like the way sisco has pushed Linksys away from the aftermarket firmware by cutting the ram in 1/2. There has been very mixed review. Normal use ok, BT not. Has problems with multiple threads.
