It's what's known as a Proxy Browsing site.
I am pretty sure your school's network administrators are not morons, and have blocked these sites as well.

I have worked as an IT consultant for schools before (in Canada, actually), and their policies are very complex, and usually iron-clad. Exceptions to the rules are very rare.

    Very good question.

What we should first ask is... WHY do you need to bypass the school's filter in the first place?

The filters are in place for a reason, usually because of legal obligations that the school must meet because of government regulations about direct communication between students and the public. ANY means of communication between a student and an external person is usually strictly forbidden by law, and the people running the network can be brought up on charges under these laws. They are not about to risk criminal charges to allow you to see some website you're trying to reach.

To be honest, you should not look to bypass this security. It's a good way to lose your network privileges completely... or worse. It's there to protect you, protect other students, and protect the network from attacks and infections.

If it's something you NEED to get to, for school purposes, you should submit a request to your school's Information Technology coordinator. They can review your request, make sure it doesn't violate any laws or the security of the network, and will probably allow it if you can provide sufficient reason for them to allow it.

Otherwise, school filters are just a fact of life that students have to live with.

For me...I go to a boarding school, so its a slightly bigger deal for me as I can't go home and go online...lol...and no filter can block out all proxy sites and there are new ones made all the time... :) I can understand the blocking of unsuitable sites but my school filter also block out alot of useful resources for school work...which is damn annoying

The sites are blocked. The school techs aren't stupid, if you know about it, they know it too.

Bypassing a school website blocker/filter is technically consider bypassing security measures so this thread is closed because it violates the forum rules.

I suggest that you talk to your school's administration if you want to pursue this matter any further.

    Thx
