    Need help bridging connections..

    I have two laptops that need internet access: EEEPC 4G and Gateway P-6831FX.
    I only have 1 ethernet connection though.
    I don't have a router and can't use one.
    The P-6831FX is connected to an ethernet cable right now.
    I want my EEEPC to connect wirelessly to P-6831FX to get internet through the ethernet cable.

    Is it possible to use my P-6831FX's wireless card to send/receive from the EEEPC such that the EEEPC can connect to internet through the P-6831FX?

    Yes you can
    Select both the wifi and wired adapters in network connections.
    And highlight bridge conections.

    Also, on your P-6831FX go to your network connections, right click on wireless and go to properties ; then make sure the box is checked that says something to the order of "Allow others to access the internet via this laptop"

    K I'm still having trouble doing this, what I need is the following:

    Ethernet to comp1
    comp1 gets internet
    comp1 sends out wireless
    comp2 connects to comp1 via wireless (through at least WEP security, if possible)
    comp2 gets internet through comp1

    The 2 posts above listed 2 different methods: ICS and bridging, both cannot coexist and both have been confusing and have had not much success.

    just earlier i did this between a desktop and a laptop, until my router comes in the mail.

    i set up an ad hoc connection with the wireless card and then turned on ICS. once i turned it on, i went to the laptop and set the ip to 192.168.0.XXX, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway to 192.168.0.1.

    then i enter ipconfig /all into cmd and got my DNS server #'s.

    My router did not get an IP address assigned to it or something, so I couldn't use it.

    It's ok, I got it working.
