Hi i need some advice, after reading many articles about the router asus ac68u and the netgear r7000 i cant decide which one should i buy, in my home i have many devices, ipads, like 5 cell phones, 2 smartvs running netflix each almost always and so on, i would like to upgrade my current router Linksys E2500 for a new one, i really like the asus but then i turn confused when i see in other places that r7000 is better lol. Which one should i choose?

    thank you very much.

My take on it is in the sticky if you are interested in reasons. If you are only interested in an answer - go for the Netgear.

I can't do it in one word - but it has slightly better hardware and better firmware. I can't get it any shorter than that without sounding stupid.

I have an R7000 at home that is great, and two running at the office as Access Points.

All three have solid range and throughput, in my experience.

    I can't compare to the ac68u, but +1 for the R7000.

You're asking to choose between 2 religions, no matter which one you choose someone from the other side will say you're wrong. Both are excellent routers and will perform very well.

Personally I have the R7000 but that was mostly because I got it for a very good price.

I don't know your location or which cell phone service you have but if you are in the US and have T-Mobile you can get an Asus AC68U for free or $25 deposit. It's listed on T-Mobile as their WiFi CellSpot. It's a rebrand of the Asus AC68U.

That being said,I have had a Netgear R7000 for 11 months or so and it's been the best router I've ever owned.

Newegg has it for Cyber Monday at $30 off

    December 1st only $169.99
