Dell has a utility that allows you to view how many antennas are being used by your wifi card.
Would anyone happen to know a similar program for laptops in general?

Probably not, but you can probably just check physically. Most notebooks just have a compartment on the bottom.
-
No idea but almost every laptop manufacturer has it's own Wlan utilities software.
-
Yeah I checked them at the bottom as I just installed the Intel 5300 card. All 3 antennas are connected.
I just want to test them somehow to see if all 3 are functioning properly. My laptop just came with Intel Pro Set Wireless, which I don't have installed at the moment. I doubt that it would have this function anyway. -
Intel has its own utilities software, but i dont think it will provide information like that.
If one of them arent functioning properly, you will get bad reception or connect at N speeds. -
Pardon my ignorance, but how is that _Dell utility showing you the number of antennae that are active?
-
-
Yeah it's the radio streams line.
-
You got a link to download this app? I don't see this on my Dell machine.
-
I found that picture on a Dell Mini forum through a Google search so I really have no idea.
-
not sure if this will do it but remote exploit has a linux version of their software called backtrack 3 it was developed as a wifi sniffing tool or should i say a whitehat hacking tool not sure it tells you how many antennae's you are using though
-
Thanks, I'll look into that.
Ok apparently the Intel PROSet Wireless software does have the ability to display the information that I'm looking for. However, every time I install this software from the Intel site, I don't get a wireless configuration utility. Instead, I just get 2 options - wifi advanced statistics and wifi manual diagnostics. These are the only 2 icons under the Intel PROSet Wireless folder in my Start menu, there's no actual utility that I can use to connect to networks.
Anyone know what's going on?
Need a program that tells me how many antennas are in use
