Im going to post this up and look thru it tonight when I get to work as I plan to buy the equipment I need to use my notebook wirelessly in my house so I dont have to share my desktops wired connection and can actually make use of the whole reason to have a notebook... some mobile freedom.

I have a wired router already setup (infact 2) and all the houses desktops will remain on that wired setup. So I just need something I can plug into one of those routers for wireless. It will go thru the current router and all of its settings, I dont know alot about wireless security but I think that once I have my wireless up and going I can just turn off its broadcast feature and not worry about much else.

It can be a AP, or a Router. It doesn't matter. I hear AP are generally better in quality but the house isnt big and it wont be far away.

Id also prefer draft N support if possible, but im sure G is just fine.

My ISP is fiber optic 15mb/s down 2mb/s up fyi.

something near 50$ sounds about right, if I can do cheaper thats great, if something cost more but comes with a great benefit of the extra money spent still suggest it and tell me why.

Newegg will be a good place to buy from, as I will buy my hdmi cable at the same time. I'll need one of those to hook it to my hdtv.

Circuit city has the Buffalo WHR-G125 and the WHR-G54S (both wireless G) on sale, each for $25 after rebates. Both have good reviews from Newegg.

If you do get a router, you should be able to turn off the DHCP server inside. That will basically turn it into an AP so that you don't have another router running.

Outpost has the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 MIMO router for $49.99 and free shipping. You can set it work as an access point through your wired network. It's also very highly recommended at Newegg. You might compare the WHR-HP-G54 and WHR-G54S to see which one you need.

looking at it now Ag76, MIMO is a good feature to have from what I know so that will probably be the one I get. Lower latency if I recall correctly and permits better speeds in general.

edit: went ahead and got it, its right there up with my 50$ budget and I dont like the hassle of rebates anyways.
