OK someone help me with lay-men's terms. PLease...
i bought the linksys broadban router wrt54g. I have DSL box, followed instructions to install. did all that. its on a WEP 16-Bit. IT's working on the computer. now for the laptop it is complicated. so on the laptop it finds it, put in the encripted wep16-bit then when it connects it says limited or no connectivity. So i put the software, that came with the router, in the laptop. I go to install and it says it does not support Secure Easy Setup and that i should install it. SO i do and it installs Broadcom 802.11 Wireless Lan Adapter. Restarts computer, blah blah. Then this new program pops up. so i add the connection, put in my key again and it trys to connect. again it says limited or no connectivitiy. THe limited or no connectivity stats the following : YOu might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources. THis problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer. WTF? OK so i go back to the cd. Go back to wirless settings. then this Secure Easy Setup shows up. THen it gives me this huge Start Round lock and tells me to click the circle. IT also tells me that i should click it when the cisco systems power button, on the router, is flashing. So the thing starts flashing as if it was on steroids. i click the circle and it says an error has occurred: SecureEasySetup requires that the Wi-Fi system application be installed a current version. PLease ensure that the application is installed and the version number is 3.90 or higher. WTF? and thats where i get lost and have no idea whats going on because i thought i installed the latest version through the cd...
help?
the setup version says 5.0

Try this, its the linksys online setup and that always works when you do the setup. Disable your security, and firewall. Then report back on how it goes. The online setup in the link is the best setup because even i have had trouble with this router.
