Hi I took my laptop back to its factory settings and set it all up again and now that I have plugged my internet LAN cable that comes straight from my router and it recognises that it is plugged in but it will not connect to the enternet. I dont understand as the first time i got the router i plugged it in and it worked straight away. I understand I am doing or not doing something ridiculous but I cannot work out what it is, if anyone can help me sort this out i would realy apprecate it, its on vista basic btw. Thanks

Check if you have an IP Address.

Network and SHaring Center > View Status > Details

    Try Repairing.

Its in your router. The exact steps are different for each router.

Go to your router settigns. Usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

Look around for DHCP, and enable it. ;)

Also try setting an IP Address.
