    Hey Guys

I'm Using A Utstarcom Make Wa3002g4 Adsl Modem Router Which Acts As My Internet Provider. I Use This For Lan Also. My Desk Top Is Connected To It Using Ethernet Cable & I Connect My Laptop Using Wifi. It Works Good For Internet As Well As Lan.

But Problem Arises When I Use Wifi In My Bedroom Which Is On First Floor As My Adsl Modem/ Router Is On Ground Floor, Next To The Room Below My Bedroom. I Get Only One Or Two Bars N Keep On Disconnecting. (AT TIMES NO BARS..)

Plz Tell Me How I Can Increase Wifi Range In My Room (cheapest Solution). I Can Not Lay Down Ethernet Cable & Cannt Move My Adsl Modem/ Router.

I Have Got An Option Of Using An Access Point In Repeater Mode, But That Cuts The Band Width In Half. How Much Effect That Can Have On My Lan & Internet? Also Which Make Can Be A Compatible Access Point For My Adsl Modem/ Router.

Plz Provide Me Some Concrete Solution At The Earliest..

    Thanx N Regards

P.S.: I NEED WPA PSK SECURITY FOR WIFI...

Wow, maybe consider NOT initial caps on everything? :twitchy:

To answer your question, this is one possibility.

Move your room. Oh, and please do as pixelot asked, and tone down on the capitalization.

Repeater won't have too much of an performance effect if you're just using it to browser internet.

Maybe look into nano stations. And so everything you type in your browser is initial caps? What browser is it? I would recommend reinstalling it, if you can't find the setting. And you can always run stuff through a word processor such as MS Word or OpenOffice or something and make a block of text non-initial caps.

What is a nano station by the way? This initial caps is happening with this particular forum only and not with other forums..

You could try buying a Linksys WRT54GL install DD-WRT on it and use it as a repeater for your wireless connection. It would probably be cheaper than buying an actual reapeater.

Will it be compatible with my utstarcom wa3002g4 adsl modem router?? also i have never used dd-wrt..is it a full proof solution?? Please guide..

ONE MORE THING, WIFI ROUTER WRT54G & WIFI AP WAP54G ARE APPX. $20 CHEAPER COMPARE TO WRT54GL. SO WHAT WOULD BE A BETTER OPTION.

Maybe one should be Asus WL 520GU. It's cheaper, slightly better signal, can run both tomato or DD-WRT, almost the same hardware, NAS/wireless print server or both with a usb hub.

Well, don't write in CAPS! That's the whole reason NBR filters that-- because it's annoying.

You could use Google to find out what a nano station is, but Ayle's suggestion may be more feasible.

My friend has DD-WRT installed on his Buffalo Router, but he also has a nano station. Pretty nice setup.
