    NID connection

    In order to test my DSL line I was told to hook up the modem(westell 7500) to the NID. there is only 1 open port on the customer side (see attached) is this where the line goes from the modem to the NID?

    They want you to do a direct connect to the network port on our computer, bypassing the router.

    thanks a lot, I am glad I waited, I did not want to take down any phone networks or worse! I am glad I have a laptop!
    Verizon was out today and ran a new line from pole to NID, All my stats improved, connection is now rock solid!
    Verizon support was great throughout my ordeal!
