Hi. My friend let me use this account and i have a quaestion or two.

I have an HP dv9500z. It came with a b/g wirless card. Its MiniPCI-E.

    I bought an Intel MiniPCIE 5300 b/g/n.

Now, you would THINK it would work. But no. After putting in the card (correctly) and attaching the antenna wires, IN BIOS, before booting- it says:

    104-Unsupported wireless network device detected.
    Remove and Reboot.

And it wont boot up to the Vista unless I take it out. I installed the "Prerequizite drivers" on the CD included, I have the most updated drivers, I disabled the other one before installing this one.

I need simple steps please, eaasy to understand. PLEASE HELP ME.
    :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Did you check for BIOS updates?

I have no idea maybe a call to HP may help.

You'll need to contact _HP to see if you can get a list of the cards supported by the BIOS of your particular system. _HP uses a so-called "white list" contained in the BIOS to identify only those cards that are allowed to be attached to the system - if an unidentified card is attached, the error you got is issued.

The first step would be to make sure your BIOS is up-to-date; if it is, then the next step is to contact _HP as I said. Other than that, if you google around a bit, you'll find some possible work-arounds, but the ones I've seen are very sketchy, may not work, and will most definitely void your warranty.
