Ok, I think i am about to pull the trigger on my NAS setup paired with an ASUS AC66 router.

Anyone any comments, especially concerns or objectiootns on this setup:
    - Synology DS412
    - 4 x Western Digital WD Red NAS Hard Drive 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 3.5" 64MB IntelliPower (WD20EFRX)
Total dmg where i live is around 1250usd...

Setup on a RAID 1 pair setting yielding 4TB effective space.

As said, I would want to connect this to my AC66 for Aicloud/cloudstation connectivity (if anyone has an opinion on aicloud vs cloudstation, that'd be great too )

    Any thoughts/comments/feedback are much appreciated!

    Quick update:
    - Items are not available currently and I might have to wait a months... damn the countries I live in ...
    - I have received my RT-AC66U router, had some issues with the firmware and setup but seems to be running now. Had additional problems to connect though this is more an ISP specific issue than a router issue so I won't elaborate. I might write a review if I find the time.

Want to add one more question to this. Given we do have frequent power outs/fluctuations, lasting usually around 1-5 minutes, rarely longer, I think a UPS would be a good investment as well. Any recommendations or experience of a UPS matching the above setup?

With 4 drive, I think you can run advanced raid setup like raid 0+1 / 1+0 / 5. Unless performance is not needed.

It's mainly for storage, and as far as I know, Raid 1 will suffice, since most access will be cloud/remote, performance most likely wont be an issue , i think . As said, this is my first 'bigger' project. The ultimate goal is to have these 4TB up in a cloud, synchronizing chunks all over different devices (2 laptops, 3 phones, 2 desktops and 1 tablet). I am just so sick of carrying hard drives, copying between devices and dealing with having forgotten things in the wrong country.
So I envision this thing to be up & running 24/7/365. As said, it's a larger project and i am not fully sure on how to do all this, so ANY THOUGHTS ARE VERY WELCOME :)

e.g. In the mid-run, I want to be running my email via this as well as I (for various reasons) want to get off the world's gmails. (I'm not he paranoid type, so this isnt conspiracy driven for once)
