I currently use a linkysys 802.11B router in my house. I use it to access wireless from my 2 laptops. Would it be a noticable upgrade to get a D-Link 802.11G? Linksys is starting to frustrate me with frequent disconnections.

*My notebooks are already B/G capable.

Maybe. Try upgrading your Linksys to its current firmware revision first.

Linksys' WRT54GL (L for embedded Linux) is my favorite router. Upgrade its antennas (9dBi "rubber duck" antennas are available for fairly cheap on eBay, make sure you get the right connector type) if you need more range. If your current router uses the same antenna type and you suspect weak signal issues try the antennas before buying a new router.
