This has been happening on and off for a few months now. It's really kind of annoying. What will happen is it will not work for 30 seconds, then the bars on the taskbar where the signal is will add a yellow exclamation mark for 10-15 seconds then it will go back to normal. Things I have tried doing:

    1. Disconnecting/reconnecting to Wifi
    2. Switching network adapter drivers and manually updating it through the device manager.
    3. I ran something through that windows 7 dos program that i read onlne that didn't fix it either don't remember what it was sorry.
    4. Clicking Troubleshoot Problems on the internet access on the taskbar, in which it will usually say theres a problem and reset the driver but it still occurs after.

Looking for solutions! I have to sit in a truck all night for work for 12 hours at my job and playing games makes it very annoying for me because it will always disconnect me from the online game.

The wireless adapter is Killer Wireless-N 1103 network adapter. Windows 7 64 bit professional edition. Thanks!

I had these problems, so I bought an Intel WLAN card :) Now it's working like charm :)

@Aplaudible check if connectors are properly seated. Switching MAIN and AUX cables may possibly help, too.

I've had a similar problem in the past with the win 7 pro. And while I can't guarantee anything, for me at least it usually resulted from being frequently on the move, with the network cache being overwhelmed, and I somehow remedied it via copying the default DNS to notepad, changing the DNS to Google Public, restarting, then changing it right back to the original. All else fails, if disassembly isn't an AW-level nightmare, sasuke256's got the right idea, pop the Killer and drop an Intel.

You just effectively flushed the DNS cache, which is also worth trying, which is a quick thing to try:

Start As Administrator a cmd Window:

    ipconfig /flushdns

That can be an issue when moving around a lot, so give that a try too.

It may just be basic incompatibilities with newer routers, so it might be time to upgrade that wifi card too :)

Thanks for all the responses. I'm lacking the equipment to make sure its properly seated at the moment. I have a sager 9170 model I think so I will have to check where the wireless card is when I open it.

Flushing the DNS doesn't appear to work unfortunately :(

The weird thing too is it always seems to happen when I'm playing a game but if I'm scrolling the internet its completely fine

Oh I also turned off background scan to off in the advanced properties in device manager and it didn't help

I'd also like to add as a possibly more information that could receive more help with the problem. Since I am at work during the course of when this happens 80% of the time I am using a mobile hotspot on my cellphone. It's a samsung galaxy s6. Is there possibly some sort of setting on the phone that could cause it to screw the connection as well that I could try changing?

Please take this with a grain of salt and a lot of skepticism, since I'm a noob when it comes to...everything and even more when it comes to phones. But I went around searching if there were any mobile hotspot related issues with the s6 specifically, and found that the s6 and the s6 edge weren't too awesome at keeping wifi connection. I don't know if this relates to your issue specifically, but I think some people solved this via just setting up the wifi manually via usb to laptop, and praying that no cell activity or apps accidentally disrupt the connection? If not hopefully someone more experienced can give you an answer.

I've been using one good service for diagnosing of my home wireless network for a long time. WiFi analyzer help, you can quickly and easily find the cause of a bad data rate and identify bottlenecks of network coverage in the room. Fast simple and smooth, I highly recommend to take a look at this app.

I'm thinking it could be my phone too. I've been trying to use the work phone as a hot spot and its much better at keeping a connection. I'm sort of torn though because it started doing it with that phone too so I don't know if its one or the other at this point :/ What do you mean by wifi to USB manually? I never heard of that before?

It's called "Wifi analyzer" ? The link you provided if not went to something where it wanted me to pay like 50 bucks a month for it

Where did you get yours from?

Also the flushdns didnt work I tried that [cant remember if i said that or not]

After you click "Get NetSpot", there's a link to the free version at the bottom of the next webpage.

Just an update. I had an old asus USB wireless stick that I use now instead of the killer wireless and the problem has gone away. Kind of annoying I had to go that route cause my computer only has 3 USB outlets so they're always full now. I still believe somewhere there is a solution for this problem though because I've read elsewhere it happens when people reinstall windows and thats what happened to me too. So it must be a Sager manufacturer setting with the way they set up windows or something.
