    My netgear router cuts out for no reason!

    i have the WGT624 v3 and it cuts out after around 4-6 hours and wen i search for a network its just not there and i have to go and pull out the plug and put it back in to get it up again

    does any1 have this problem or is it my net i dunno thx

    ohh im connected to it wirelessly nd its in B and G mode also im at full strength/speed so its not that

    Download any firmware updates that you can find. I have heard of a couple of people having this problem and once they updated it didn't happen anymore.

    If the firmware update didn’t work (which I'm betting on) you might have to look at all the other 2.4ghz devices in your house and to completely remove them. Then see if you still get the problem. If not then wala! Now look into replacing that 2.4ghz phone with a 5ghz phone or going to 802.11a :p

    But most people just trash their old router and get a new one. IMO the more money you put into a router, the less likely it will reboot/crash on you.

    BTW I have a WRT54GX4 and so far so good. Netgear wifi routers are pretty notorious with losing the connection and in my own experience I have found Dlink to be a real pain the butt.
