With my desktop, I have seen real increases in both web page viewing speed and down load speed over the years using net optimizes. The two I found most useful were from speedguide.net and DSL reports (free and good forum support). Since getting my laptop I figured I'd try to optimize my connection using one or the other. After two frustrating days of my speeds going into the tank (multiple configs) I have decided to go back to window defaults. Everything is now back to normal, just wondering if being on a wireless router is the culprit? I have an excellent connection but I'm still at 65% - 70% of the speeds I should be seeing. Any one using these optimizers and having a speed increase? I could post at the speedguide or DSL reports forums but Notebook Review is starting to feel like home.

Those optimizers don't always guarantee big increases in speed, but more stability and maybe a little speed increase IF there was a problem before.

    I wouldn't bother with them.

If you could tell us what kind of wireless card you have maybe that might be it.

    Cheers,
    Mike
