Newegg has sometimes been unresponsive and have problems lately, occasionally giving me lots of anger and the following error:

I wanted to make a purchase today, so I tried connecting my laptop directly to the modem than wirelessly through the router. The result was a perfect surfing of the site when the router was taken out of the equation.

My question is, what is wrong with my router that would cause it to interfere with my use of Newegg.com? No other websites have issues like this. It only happens with Newegg.com.

My router model is a NetGear RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N WNR834B. More information on the model on NetGear's site is found at the following address: http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/RangeMaxNEXTWirelessRoutersandGateways/WNR834B.aspx

Any and all help is appreciated :D

LOL Zoltang, try reconnecting the router and doing a tracert to www.newegg.com in command prompt. If your router is the problem it should stop at its address.

edit: when you go to your router home page check client IP filters & MAC address filtering.

How do you do a tracert? Lol, sorry, I don't know too much about this stuff.

I logged on to my router (or whatever you call it) and there wasn't any site that was listed as blocked...not sure how to check "Client IP Filters" or "MAC Address Filtering" :S

Do you think it IS possible that the store blocked Newegg? Haha...I got the router from Fry's, a big electronics chain. It is possible that they did it to keep customers from competitors, right? Although is it legal?

    To run tracert:Run/command prompt>type cmd>type tracert www.newegg.com
the last hop should be newegg if you able to connect. With your router interface you usually have to login first to make changes or check settings they should be either at the top of page or on the lefthand side.

First after typing cmd( in the run box),type in ipconfig/all,look at the default gateway this should be your router ip address. Then do the tracert if the hops are getting past your default gateways ip then there a problem somewhere else and it's not your router. On the other hand if it stops/times out there then its your router stopping the connection to newegg. The last hop should neweggs ip address you can check this by typing it into your web broswer.

Well, I just did that tracert thingie 5 times. It went through all the way all 5 times, but Newegg also happened to be working during the time of the testing.

Once Newegg starts acting up again, I'll try the test again.

Thanks for the help guys :D
