Well it was suppose to be for my other laptop, but it broke. When setting up the wireless internet connection for my computer, is it still necessary to use the Linksys wireless router CD? Or can I just use the wireless network config. in Control Panel?

You do not need the CD. You can configure everything manually.

The Wireless Config Wizard will be able to guide you through the steps. I assume you're using Win XP.
