    Modem keeps disconnecting.

    Been going on for half a year now im getting super slow speed and my dsl keeps going out Verizon tells me i gotta wait 3 weeks for a repairman any help guys?

    Primpian: Does Verizon have a monopoly in your area. If not I would look at other options. If Fios was available in your area and you called them to install I am guessing they would be there sooner. The DSL is the older tech and my sister has been getting the same kind of slow downs. The only difference is they will show up to fix it that week instead of three weeks.

    Line attenuation is at the level that should cause constant disconnections and slow speed. Things to do- check the cables and splitter/filter in your apartment (replace if possible to make sure it's not their fault). Check the phone-line wall socket- it may have been damaged or simply a wire is lose.
    If it's none of the above or for example it had rained a lot in your area (it's a common root of this problem) call your ISP and report the issue quoting these values.
