    Hey guys,

I'm ordering AT&T's DSL internet service but not getting their free 2 Wire modem/gateway as the promotional does not apply to me.

So I basically need a modem and a wireless router after I get the service.

I'm still not sure what I need for wireless internet to get going in my apartment so does anyone have any suggestions on what modem/router I should get?
I was looking at "D-Link ADSL2/2+ Modem/Wireless Router" but I'm not sure if that would allow me to get internet+ wireless connection throughout my apt.

    Thanks!

Are you sure you're not getting a modem? That's really rare. While you may or may not get a wireless router built in, the modem part is pretty standard. I'm on Qwest here in Denver and they use the Actiontec P5000 combo modem / WAP and it works well enough. Never had a problem with it other than it's not N capable and I wanted a nicer N router so I turned off the wireless portion and plugged my Netgear WNR3500L into it.

Yup. Not getting a modem because I don't have ATT phone line. They want me to dish out a 75$ just for a modem and I'd rather just buy one

I bet you can find used actiontecs on ebay for cheap.
