I have a Lenovo X120e netbook (0596-2RU) and am confused about how to get secure mobile broadband service. I Need wireless internet service for medical electronic documentation in the field. Can anyone guide me through the process? Apparently my computer can be configured with mobile broadband or 3gwireless. Not sure what this entails??

I recently shopped for this in my area. Initially find out what services are available in your area. Then if you post your general area and list the providers I am sure others will give specific recommendations.
BTW avoid Cricket Wireless the the Chester PA USA area!

It's very much possible that your laptop is missing the actual broadband modem but it as a slot for one.

Basically, first check if your laptop already has the modem installed and what type it is. That can be done visually (open the laptop) or looking at the device manager.

If you have a modem, then get a contract with the best compatible service provider in your area.

If you don't have the modem yet, choose best service provider (be it 3G, LTE or CDMA-whatever) and obtain a modem for it and a contract.
