This week I will be buying a new laptop. One of the ways in which I intend to use it is during lunch and breaks at work, but I will need my own internet service to do so. I don't want to get on a two-year contract, so I started looking around for an alternative.

I have found providers such as Cricket, CLEAR and Datajack, but I figured I would check in to see if anyone had any experiences or advice with no-contract mobile broadband before I made a purchase.

One thing that I am still confused about is that some of these providers say that my region is not covered, but their coverage maps show 3G as being available. Do they mean to say that my region does not have 4G? I'd be paying $50/month for 3G regardless, so it would be fine with me if I'm paying $50/month for a 4G plan but only getting 3G speeds.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea where you are so I can't make a recommendation.

BUT, I'm sure wherever has prepaid mobile broadband. I use it sometimes here in Australia when I'm out on the farm. Work's great.
