    3G (and mobile phones in general) use different frequencies in the US and in Europe.
    You have to check the exact 3G modem model number and verify that it can operate on European frequencies.
    If it can than there should be no problem.

    The modem in the Lenovo cards are usually the the Qualcomm Gobi ones (new systems). Gobi works on CDMA and GSM/HSPA and globally (hence the name :D) SO the same card works on every carrier in the world. I have one in my system but don't even use it at all, was thinking it would come in handy oneday.
