I have 2 laptops (Sony Vaio VGN-NR123E) and have finally figured out why my son can't get on wireless internet - he doesn't have an internal wireless adapter! The one on mine says it is a Lan-Express ASIEEE 802.11g PCI-E adapter. Is there any way I can just download it from the internet or do I need to have Sony install it? If I can download it, would you mind telling me where I need to save it on my computer. Sorry, I am not an expert with computers. Also, I did look at the Sony website and the network adapter I need is not listed. I also looked under system restore and its not listed there either. I sincerely appreciate any help you can give me!

Does this model have a hardware wireless switch (yes, right side of front)? Is it switched on (slide it to the right)? If not, the wireless device may not show up in Device Manager (it should be under network adaptors). If there's nothing in Device Manager when it is switched on then I wonder if it is there. If it shows up but is not working then it is probably a driver problem.

Yes, the switch is on but it still doesn't show up in device manager.

I just did system restore and that brought it up.
