Make sure you have a mini screw to secure it, because Dell doesn't include any.

It has been a long time since the last post, but did the card work on the DV7??? I am also interested in adding bluetooth without a usb dongle.

I just bought a 'no name' combo miniPCIe card with 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR from some place in Hong Kong (via ebay). Works fine in my HP.

Cost was $25 including speedpost mail from HK/SAR

It doesn't really matter, but I currently run an HP G70.

With the exception of the Dell mini9/10 nettops, miniPCIe is the same everywhere. Dell decided to implement a very small subset of miniPCIe in their nettops. I can't imagine that this saved them any $$$ so their motivation for breaking the standard has to have been vendor lock-in for upgrades.

Speaking to your laptop, you will have to do your own research to see if a) your laptop has a miniPCIe slot and b) that it's not already being used for someting else and c) that your laptop already has the necessary antenna wires installed.

If a) and b) come out in your favor, it's easy enough to buy the correct antenna wires for c) and install them yourself. You need 'special' wires of a specific length with a special connector on the end. Not to worry, these wires are ALL standardized. If you find a set for sale they should work ok in your machine.
