Would an after market WiFi antenna (more expensive ones) be better than a the default WiFi antenna that comes with the laptop?
I'm thinking of getting the more expensive ones not the Tyco ones that everyone uses to add a third antenna for 3x3 MIMO.

I've replaced all of the antennas in my laptops with tycos before but I also swapped to better wifi cards at the same time... so it makes it hard to know how much good the antennas actually did. But they're pretty cheap so it's more a question of if you want to go through the hassle of ripping your screen bezel off and taking the LCD out, routing the cables, etc. The actual antennas won't let you down.

Thanks for the reply, I will be swapping out my screen anyways no hassle just the question.
I've already dissembled the LCD bezel on my laptop prior to the question for EMI shielding my screen and original WiFi antennas, the shielding alone actually helped slightly boost my original WiFi antennas signal but more importantly EMI shielding eliminates any interference noise from outside nearby electronics coming into both the LCD and WiFi signal.
I'll look into the matter further and try to balance out if it's worth the cost to replace the original WiFi antennas for better ones (the more expensive ones), thanks again.
