I usually use my laptop at Home and connect it to the net via a crossover cable to my PC. I even use it at collage & a friends place. In my collage, there are 3 different settings. Its really difficult to keep changing the settings always. Is there any way by which i can keep switching between settings easily ??????

NOTE: At all the places i use a wire network. My laptop is HP Compaq NX 6310. I know that toshiba has an utility to keep switching between networks. I could not find any application like that in my notebook.

also most LANs use DHCP so setting your ip to "obtain automatically" will allow you to just plug in. Dont use a crossover cable for anything othere then connecting to your pc. Use wifi or a patch cable, as the cross over function is done for you in the switch/hub.
