    Is there a way to make your own proxy so that it routes everything through your home computer?

    Sure. There's a list of software that can be used to run a proxy server at the end of the Wikipedia article on proxy servers. Basically, take one computer (an old one will do), add proxy software, configure to taste, and voila!
