    What makes you think it's not getting the best connection? Besides, usually they are all optimized to work at max capacity, usually it's the router or other microwaves or other factor making the connection suxor. A bad antenna placement can also caused this.

    well, i just got my computer back from bestbuy, and im getting really bad connections, 2 bars, when i used to get 3 or 4 and i have the same driver. all they did was reinstall windows. and they put the same driver i used before.

    Look to see if there is more signal noise than before ,try reinstalling the driver yourself or updating router driver and maybe resetting the router, and if you running in mixed mode try turning it off and just running b,g or n.

    i have it set to just G and i reinstalled an older driver, it working a little better, but not much diffrent

    Have checked the antennas to see if they're loose or damaged?Double click on the bars and see how much noise you're getting.Maybe your card isn't seated just right just somethings to look at.BTW what kind of router and card do you have.

    i have a SMC router.... after downgrading my driver, im always stuck at 3 bars, no matter what.
