Well I finally switched from my horror ISP to MSN. For those of you who don't know what happened I will recap it for you.

I had been using my old ISP for about 3 months when I started to notice that the connection seemed slower. About another month pasted I couldn't play any games online and I couldn't use do any file sharing. After this happened I tried to figure out what the problem was by calling the ISP. They said they had a priority system and that if you used over a certain amount of bandwidth you would end up on the priority system and your connection would be slower. But here is the kicker. They said they block peoples ports for gaming and file sharing after they hit a certain amount of usage. That just totally pissed me off since they didn't mention that when we signed up.

Moral of the story is always ask if your ISP has a priority system before signing up.

Verizon FIOS blocks inbound port 80. But they allow FTP (ports), which is fine with me. When I'm away from home I use VPN connection to my network. But the 2mbps uplink speed makes it sweet.

I have had several comments on my FIOS 5/2 service. I had a friend test my Snap4500 FTP setup. He was amazed that he almost got 2.5mbps. He is on comcast and only has 10m/512k speed. Which was better than my comcast connection (6m/384k) before moving to FIOS. I love it. :) Even though the download speed is slower, don't have the lags anymore. It actually seams faster. In my Area Comcast sold out to Charter Cable (RR).
