    Like the title says...

For some reason, my Macbook Pro keeps disconnecting from my school network, but it only happens in Windows XP. My home connection is fine, wireless hotspots are fine, my school network runs fine under Leopard, but in Windows XP it just keeps disconnecting. It connects and authenticates very quickly...in fact, immedietly most of the time; but if I have some internet activity like MSN or something, it disconnects after about 10 minutes and sometimes takes forever just to reconnect.

No one else in the school faces this problem. (although I may be the only one running XP under Boot Camp) Anyone here can help? =/

Check the power management settings on the XP side, control panel. And advanced settings under the port. Make sure they are set not to turn off to save power. You should browse through the complete list to make sure you don't miss any thing. By default this happens every 5 min unless changed, when on battery.

Unchecked. Plus I run on A/C power most of the time.

If your MBP is like mine, the Atheros WLAN drivers that are included on the Boot Camp/OS X Leopard install DVD are outdated and unreliable. Here is a direct link to more updated drivers that I've found to work well on Boot Camp with XP Home.

Link seems to be broken....thanks for the help though. I'm using the Penryn MBPs btw, as well as Broadcom WLAN.

The link is not broken, but the forum/Web site that hosts the file must not allow direct links to the files. No matter. Try going here and then clicking on the link to download the version 6.0.3.130 drivers.

Also note that Apple released a Boot Camp driver update for Windows XP. That should contain updated drivers as well. Get it here.

Great. But the newer MBPs use Broadcom WLAN cards. Thanks anyway.

I had tried the 7.xx drivers previously, and they had problems connecting to networks outside my home one. The 6.0.3.130 set has been rock solid on all networks I've tried, and connection is especially strong with very high throughput on my home WLAN.
