Hi, first I would like to apologize for asking a question like this.(If it has been repeated multiple times or is just a total scrub question)

We have my m17x, macbook pro, and a desktop all running off a router via Ethernet cables. Problem is, when my brothers macbook goes wireless, or my sisters macbook goes wireless. The internet shuts down for everyone. Then we have to reset the router. SO basically people are getting quite angry about this, i have tried every option to fix this. Does anyone know why the internet goes out when the macs connect wirelessly. Also we have tried PC laptops and they cause no loss of internet. Any ideas? BTW using an old netgear router. Should i just buy a new router and see if it works?

What Netgear router do you have? Have you checked for upgraded firmware? Have you visited any Netgear forums to see if anyone else has reported this kind of issue?

You might want to try re-posting this in the Mac forum thread also as you might get more responses there.
