As long as your Mac operating system can join a domain then you "should" be fine. Better as the system administrator at your school.

i don't exactly know what you mean by your school "using xp pro", but this is a question that you need to ask your school. we don't know what school you're talking about or what their network topology is.

Usually you will be ok. OS X can read NTFS, but not write to it that is the only issue if it is file sharing you are talking about. If it is just internet, then you should have no problems.

again, this is a question you have to ask your school.

you haven't even told us what school it is (and even if you did, it wouldn't help unless someone here actually went to that school).

did i mention that you have to ask your school?

another suggestion is to ask your school

if that doesn't work i would say your next best bet is to ask your school

Sorry, almost ALWAYS the people here are very helpful and well at my school, they are not. Sorry to have wasted your time, but I feel as if there was no need in you being a bit rude and sarcastic.

I don't think it was rude

Post 3: " we don't know what school you're talking about or what their network topology is"

Do they list the details online?

Well, what exactly are you trying to do on the network? Are you just going to access the internet? These files you were talking about, explain that a little more. If you give some more detailed info about what you want to do, then we may be able to give you a good idea, but you will need to verify with the school to be certain. Most likely they are Mac friendly. It is a university right, not a high school?

It's actually a high school. Well the school gives you a username and password you use only at the school and on their computers. Username is
firstname.lastname and then your password is the last 4 digits of your school id number. For example. You need to type a report at school. So you log in and then you type it up and save it underneath that. You can't access the report from home, unless you sent it to your email.

In that case, it seems highly specialized for their situation. I would either ask a teacher that knows (someone must) or try to find a friend or friend of a friend and see if you can try it that way.

I used to have that same system in my HS, and with the paper issue, go with using a flash drive.
