I am using my Linux PC as an nfs server to transfer my files to my MBP but data transmission is very, very slow, about 50 KB/s on a 100Mbit line.

    On my Linux PC:
    /etc/exports:
    /media/sdb1 macbookpro(ro,insecure,anonuid=501,anongid=20)

    On my MBP:
    With Finder, connect to server:
    nfs://kubuntu/media/sdb1

Anybody has an idea why things are so slow?

So you have both machines connected to a 100Mbit switch? What are the specs of your PC?

That's correct. The PC is a 2.4Ghz Pentium IV with 1.3GB of RAM installed. The MB is an Asus P4PE with onboard Ethernet (Broadcom).
