I have the Ahtheros AR9285 wireless device in this laptop running windows 7 64 bit. There is no switch to turn on the device besides using the Function F8 key. I've tried that combo of keys multiple times without luck. Windows keeps telling me I need to turn on the wireless device using the switch and or function keys.

My keyboard is messed up where it's sticking or shorting on some keys as it will display multiple characters at once so I know there are issues with the keyboard. For example the G key displays G5 every time. Could these keyboard issues not allow me to use the Function F8 key to turn on the wireless device?

    Thanks
