I was wondering if anyone knows this:
How good are Linksys's routers firewall?

I googled this subject for quite a while but I didn't find any good answers..
I have Lynksys WRT54GC, which is a wireless router (that also works like a switch), and I've been wondering if I could drop my software firewall.. I've used Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, but recently switched to the sunbelt firewall (only because I had problem with vpn connections) but with the router's firewall isn't, using a software firewall, redundant?

Thanks in advance for your answers :)

P.S.: Just realized, first post :D yay

Most hardware SPI firewall are pretty good. The problem with them is that they do not control outgoing, only incoming. So if your are infected it will still be talking to the mother ship. But if your the one that allow all outgoing when prompted, you are defeating the purpose of a software firewall. The best defense is to prevent them from penetrating your peremeter. So a HW FW will prevent unsolisited packets from sliping through. but if all ready in they have full reign.
