I recently added a user account for my wife to an I6000. The Intel 2200 driver is 0.0.3.9 from Sep2005.

Since adding this user account, everytime I switch from my account to hers, I get a Wireless Network Connection icon in the status bar that appears to be searching for a network signal. It then opens a dialogue stating "you have limited or no connectivity, internet may not be available, etc." The Intel Pro status bar icon states that the signal quality is "Excellent" for the router signal (I'm using an Airport Extreme Base Station that has previously had no problems and currently works fine with my other user profile).

If I click on the Wireless Network Connection icon, I can "Repair" the connection. There is also a note that "This problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer." If I "Repair" the connection, it seems to start up and I can connect and get online. But, after switching from the original user profile back to this new one, the same thing happens. Any permanent fix for this? I'm assuming it has to do with the network address issue, but I don't know how to fix this???

    Talkin,

Are you still logged in using the other profile? I know my friend had this same problem. Because the other profile had the internet connection or network connection active he had the same problem. If this is the cause I would suggest logging out the other user instead of just switching users. I think Nick will be able to help you out on this.

    I hope this helps.

USAFdude, yes the other user is logged in. I tried logging one off first and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the suggestion!

I guess logging off first isn't that big of a deal, but it eliminates fast-user switching which is a bummer. On my iMac I can fast switch between users and each user will automatically connect to the network, so I imagine this shouldn't be that hard to overcome.

Is there a setting or application I can install that will fix this so I can just switch users and they will each properly connection?

The only thing I can think of is in the advanced settings of the user switch. I am working off memory here, but I think you can enable/disable internet connectivity when switching users.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

I can't find any advanced setting or reference to managing network connections under the User Accounts section of Control Panel. Any other place I might look?
