    Hello.

I am looking for a new router.

Looking for the BEST Wireless router with long range for N/G....

It should be able to support N/G connections.

I dont need the router for any other extra features, I just need a long range wireless router that can provide full speeds while being stable and not disconnect all the time, should be stable.

Please let me know your suggestions.

    Thank you.

Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH is a great router (good hardware and firmware) from a reliable company. The HP part in the name stands for High Power (radio that is) so it should give you the desired range.
It costs $80 which is a great price for a router with 400MHz Atheros CPU and 64MB RAM.

Yes but you need only one don't you? ;)
If you need a second option- Linksys E2000 is known for good range and is reasonably priced and current king of the hill Netgear WNDR3700 is also very good in this respect (and all other as well) but is not exactly what you call cheap.

Nope- these are completely unavailable where I live unfortunately.
What exactly have you heard about them?
If money is not an issue Netgear WNDR3700 has a very good range (and everything else about it too)
All routers I recommended are always capable of running a 3rd party firmware (DD-WRT, Tomato or both) so any software issues can be solved this way if manufacturer fails to deliver a firmware update on time or doesn't solve the problem with one. You can also increase transmit power in DD-WRT to a certain extent. That applies to all three routers I've mentioned.

    I agree with Downloads recommendations.

As for the bad reviews, keep in mind many people don't have a clue what they are doing, Some even mark down a product rating because of poor shipping times and such. Something completely unrelated to the product.

Buffalo has had a good rep for a while now.

awaisuk: What range and setup are we talking about here? What routers have you tried?

The Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH is very powerful but its antennas isnt as good. If you really need the range, you can do an external antenna mod for a higher gain/directional beam. You can change 2 of the 3 antennas (third antenna is embedded). All you need is a u.Fl to RP-SMA bulkhead and your choice of antenna type. Some case retrofitting is required.

Same for Linksys routers, you can retrofit external antennas to increase range & quality.

I have the WNDR 3700 and I love it. Its the easiest router I have ever used to set up a network on and the range is outstanding.
