Hi, I asked a question the other day about being unable to get a wireless card working on a Acer Aspire 1804. One of the forum members answered me and provided a driver that worked. A couple of days later Windows auto update, updated my card driver and it stopped working. There wasn't a role back as I don't bother with Restore points. It has taken me several hours getting it back working again, the original driver didn't work because something else had been altered . I would now like to ask is it possible to lock down the card settings.
I will of course now look at what Windows is updating, i.e. click on the Custom Install before allowing the updates.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For the time being you can right click the driver on Win Update list and choose "hide this update". It will not work for another version of this driver when it rolls out but then again it's unlikely there will be another version- this card is quite old.
